The Nashville School of Historical Fencing was founded in 2015, and is the largest school of HEMA in the Mid-South area. We are committed to the goal of fostering the growth of HEMA in our region, through classes, workshops and tournaments. Led by experienced instructors and coaches, we take a strong pedagogical approach to the study of HEMA, implementing both historical and modern training methodologies. We place a strong emphasis on the physical culture fencing requires and take our training seriously rather than casually. HEMA is a broad spectrum and offers many avenues of study, our current focuses include - the Longsword in the Germanic tradition, from 15th and 16th century sources, the Italian Rapier from the 17th century and 19th century military Saber. We currently open up enrollment/Recruitment for new students 2x per year, usually in the Spring and Fall. We are Growing and always glad to welcome new members!
